Hi, I'm new in this community. I really think that its a good idea. For example in my first meeting. I began to talk about mirroring, how to read the hex file of data, and the unique thinks that I remember is when I saw the faces of all the asistent, they didn't understand anything. I feel very but. Time after that, when I asisted to more conferences and I was speaker for more meetings. I understand, some trips, that I have used to be a better speaker.

Mark, I think this would be a great idea, id be happy to see it rolled up under the professional dev VC, and yes I believe there would be more than enough subject matter. The problem is the subject matter doesnt change much, the experts dont change much but, the people wanting to learn to speak better will change often. So, even though youve done a presentation about abstracts, it could be helpful to do that same topic again in 9-12 months because presumably we're trying to cultivate speakers and a new "crop" will be upcoming at any given time. Also, 2 different speakers will likely have different takes on the same topics so, Id be happy to see duplication of topics in this area because 1 persons style may not fit your style while the next person would

That sounds like a great idea! I'm in the same boat as you, Allen, but definitely count me in as a participant.

An entire Vitual Chapter dedicated to this topic? Is there enough ongoing subject matter? What about working with the Professional Development VC to make it a key topic or sub-track (or whatever buzz word you like)?

I nominate Kendal Van Dyke (@SQLDBA). He's already presenting at SQLSaturday's on the topic. He's an experienced speaker, even a PASS veteran.

I'm 100% overloaded, but this is one of those causes that'll make me push other things out of the way. Whatever I can do to help, I'm down. Put me down as a volunteer - once I get out of this MCM thing, heh.
